I wonder why people get scared when they get a job that they have always wanted and then they are issued with a computer and a task to get started with. This happens a lot of times and it may be interpreted wrongly to mean that the new employee is not ready for work. The difference between using a computer at home to do your own stuff and in the office to deliver a certain task is that the latter will need more commitment and it has to be done no matter what. This may be the reason why many feel threatened. But there is no need to worry because with the softwares that we are using these days on our computers, you can get helped on how to use them in case you have no idea. You can for instance get powerpoint help if you are unable to prepare a PowerPoint presentation on your first day at work.
